Items I’ve stumbled across, loved, collected or have been intrigued about in the vintage world. These are little moments that fuel my obsession  

Mini colored glass bottles

This started with some bottles I inherited from my Nonnie. The collection has grown some over the years. I've discovered over the years that these were often made to hold cologne, perfume or medicine. Often times the manufacturer is Wheaten, but "newer" distributers could even be Avon. Because of this, the newer vintage bottles are easier to find out in the wild because of mass production. Wheaton bottles are also possible to find in the wild, however they are often larger or made from less desirable clear glass. Although I love clear glass because of its versatility and beauty when used with candles for a tablescape, I prefer my miniature bottles in color because of the....

Kitchy cat addition

Kitch is a favorite vintage niche of mine. I love the overly emphasized, simplicity of the old "weirdos." I recently found this little yellow and white cat to pair with the black one. The ironic thing is, although this airwick cat was created in the 1990's, it is still vintage at this point. Anything over 20 years old is considered vintage. For a frame of reference, items have to be 100 years old before they can be called antique. This yellow cat is a perfect example of get what you love and not what has monetary value. It fooled me, because although it is not very old, it does have crazing on it. This made me guess it was from.....

This deer collection is very valuable to me. I always say to collect items that you love, not what you think has resale value. This has taken me years to curate. Some belonged to family members that have passed away, while others have been an insane haul at a flea-market or a thrift shop. This is one of the few collections I have that I will sometimes add in a few repro pieces if I really like the looks of them. As time goes by, I will swap these pieces out if I ....

This is the first time I have ever seen miniature mercury glass ornaments in person. I can't explain how excited the little set of fancy ones makes me. I got these at a local auction house. I bid on a whole table lot just to get the vintage Christmas items. I donated most of the rest of the table items because I now only make space for stuff that excites me. Vintage Christmas holds one of my top 3 most favorite collecting categories. Vintage easter and 1950's kitchen theme will.....

Green & white slag glass

Slag glass has always been one of my adored glass types. It was typically made at the end of the workday with the left-over pieces of glass. Often times at least one color glows under a black light, which is a fun item to keep on you when thrifting. This glass is always one a kind, because the swirls and color combos give each piece a uniqueness. Although not a huge trend at the moment, I see the value and predict a surge in appreciation for these pieces ....

Vintage tins and graphics

These tins will hold a special place in my heart forever. The two tins on the left belonged to my mom. I found these (and a ton more!) in her pantry a few years ago. I realized they were the same spices I remembered seeing growing up. We both laughed when she realized how old they really were. She replaced them, but at the time I didn't think about the containers. I recently saw some out thrifting and sent her a pic. She made me laugh, again, by sending me the only two tins she had left in her cabinets. Now I add to them when I find ones with graphics I like. They are now a reminder now of both how old I am and also a good memory with my mom.....
