About Me

Who I am- Boy mom, proud auntie, novice home-renovator, cat owner and returning student
Passing time- Thrifting, gardening and yardwork, crafting, reading and taking walks
My simple joys- vintage trucks, sunny beaches, the smell of lilac, lily of the valley and roses, son’s smiles and laughter, dancing music and summer walks
Thrifting- This is my favorite past time. I have been into tag-sales, resale shops, antique stores, flea markets, etc… since I have been a teenager. I love saving, displaying, learning from and seeing the history and progression of items over the years. I think most things these days just aren’t made with the same quality and attention to detail as vintage and antique items. My favorite items of interest are kitschy figurines, 50’s-70’s kitchen items, glass, cross-stitch, retro Christmas and easter weirdos, dried flower art and painted trays. I also have a thing for vintage items that remind me of my Texas history. Thrifting isn’t about hoarding and filling my house with things of value for future sales for me. I adore the seeing, learning, touching and hearing the stories people have attached to items of their past. Often times I go browsing just to get the rush of looking at it all, knowing I will come home empty handed. It just brings a joy that has never wavered for me.
